But behind those headlines are real policies, real priorities, and a clear plan to fix the things that simply aren’t working for people across the Highlands.

Politics That’s Personal
I’m not someone who’s come into this election campaign from a think tank or party HQ.
I live here. My family uses the same roads, the same health services, the same schools as you. I hear the same frustrations—on the doorstep, in the shops, and in my inbox every day.
And honestly? People are scunnered.
They’re tired of:
- Waiting weeks for a GP appointment
- Driving on roads that should have been fixed years ago
- Watching services get more distant and less reliable
That’s why my campaign is focused on fixing the basics—and getting things working again.
My Headline Priorities
These are the big areas I’ve been talking about in my leaflets—and the ones I’ll focus on as your MSP.
🏥 Health & Care That Works
We need to get back to a system where you can actually access care when you need it.
That means:
- Faster access to GPs, dentists and mental health support
- A proper plan to recruit and retain NHS staff
- Fixing social care so people aren’t stuck in hospital unnecessarily
Because right now, the system is clogged—and patients are paying the price.

🚧 Fixing Our Infrastructure
If you live in the Highlands, you don’t need a report to tell you things aren’t working.
From crumbling roads to ferry disruption, it’s holding people back and damaging our economy.
My focus includes:
- Fixing Highland roads and tackling the maintenance backlog
- Sorting out ferry reliability once and for all
- Improving public transport connections across rural areas
Because getting from A to B shouldn’t feel like a daily gamble.

💷 Helping with the Cost of Living
People are feeling squeezed from every angle—and government needs to be on their side.
That means:
- Cutting energy bills through insulation and local energy generation
- Supporting local businesses and jobs
- Tackling the housing crisis so people can actually afford to live and work here
And crucially—making sure Highland communities benefit from the wealth generated here.

🎓 Getting Education Back on Track
Education should be opening doors—but too many young people and families feel it’s slipping backwards.
I want to see:
- More support in classrooms for pupils and teachers
- Better help for children with additional needs
- Stronger links between schools, colleges and local jobs
Because every young person in the Highlands deserves the best possible start.
